Fall 2016 Interdisciplinary Artist in Residence, Meeta Mastani, has made a wonderful video to share with prospective students, which highlights the type of techniques she uses and will be teaching in the class, Tactile Textiles – From 2D to 3D:

As noted in the attached course flyer, Tactile Textiles – From 2D to 3D, will expose students to the possibilities of promoting, disseminating, and sharing their creativity in sustainable, socially engaged, collaborative projects. Students will learn the art of painting, printing and dyeing in non-toxic colors, in addition to the global artistry of draping and the histories of ancient craft traditions in South Asia. The course will include a show of draped printed/ painted surfaces and a final project set to transform a public space or performance.
