For nearly three decades at UW Madison, Blomker taught the elementary and middle school science methods course based on constructivist and conceptual change theories of learning and sound scientific practice. Blomker consulted with school faculty on the creation of place-based environmental education and inquiry-based curriculum. In addition to having taught the elementary and middle school science methods course at UW-Madison for 29 years, Blomker developed and facilitated professional development field courses for teachers in the area of landscape ecology.
