CSA graduate students receive 2025 IRIS Fieldwork Award

The Center for South Asia warmly congratulates graduate student affiliates Srotaswini Bhowmick (History) and Arijit Banerjee (English and Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies) on receiving the 2025 IRIS Fieldwork Awards. Bhowmick, also a recipient of the IRIS/BLAC Foundation supplemental award, explores gender and subject formation in postcolonial India through the lens of film cultures shaped by the 1947 Partition of Bengal. Banerjee’s interdisciplinary project investigates theatricality and intermediality in contemporary video and performance art, building on his training in Chinese philosophy, theatre, and history.
