The Center for South Asia warmly congratulates Professor Viren Murthy, incoming CSA Director and Professor of History, on receiving the prestigious 2025–26 Kellett Mid-Career Award. Prof. Murthy’s research focuses on transnational Asian intellectual history, drawing on thinkers from China, Japan, India, and Germany to critically engage with modernity and theories of history. His interdisciplinary work brings together history, philosophy, political theory, and Asian studies, and we are thrilled to see his scholarship recognized with this honor.
