The Center for South Asia warmly congratulates Anthony Cerulli on being named Artist-in-Residence (AiR) for the 2025–26 academic year at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPI) in Berlin, Germany. At MPI, Anthony will continue exploring the interplay of art-making, aesthetics, and knowledge curation, developing new material and media for his Manuscriptistan project, and collaborating with artists and art spaces in Berlin. Through its AiR program, the MPI brings recognized artists to the institute to foster dialogue between different forms of knowledge and scholarship, stimulating new work and critical reflection. As both a scholar and an artist, Anthony draws inspiration for his writing and teaching from the questions and challenges that art-making poses, viewing his artwork as a vital instrument of inquiry and experimentation.
