The Center for South Asia warmly congratulates Magna Mohapatra, graduate student, on receiving the Percy Buchanan Award for South Asia 2025 for the best original graduate student research paper for their paper, “Paradox of Degrowth: The Decolonial Niyamgiri Being.” They have also been nominated by the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) to present this paper at the Council of Conferences’ Designated Panel during the AAS Annual Meeting in Vancouver, B.C., March 12–15, 2026.
