On September 6th, the Center for South Asia celebrated the beginning of the Fall semester by welcoming back students and faculty with the announcement that we once again received Title VI National Resource Center and FLAS funding for the 2018-2022 cycle. Muhammad Umar Memon, a UW–Madison professor who was an internationally renowned scholar of the Urdu language and literature, died June 3. He was 79.
